About NineBar
Most espresso troubleshooting advice online comes from one of two places: a manufacturer's support page written for every model at once, or a forum thread where the real answer is buried under a dozen guesses. I built NineBar to close that gap — one page per symptom, one page per machine, written so you can find your exact problem and fix it without digging.
I'm not owned by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any espresso machine or coffee maker manufacturer. When a guide recommends a brand of descaling solution or a specific part, that recommendation is based on what actually works, not a partnership.
How I build a guide
Every guide starts from a real, specific symptom — a watery shot, a machine that won't turn on, a descaling light that won't clear — then gets checked against the manufacturer's own manuals, support pages, and documented service guidance rather than written from memory. When a manufacturer publishes an interactive troubleshooter instead of a plain manual, I work through the actual steps myself rather than relying on a secondhand description; I've corrected a guide before after re-testing turned up a different result than an initial source suggested.
When a manufacturer doesn't publish something — an exact ratio, a specific error code's cause — I say so directly instead of guessing at a plausible-sounding answer. Guides carry a last-reviewed date, and I revisit them as machines, firmware, and manufacturer guidance change.

Independent equipment troubleshooting research and testing
I research and write every guide on NineBar myself, cross-checking claims against manufacturer manuals, support pages, and documented service guidance before publishing. I'm not affiliated with any machine manufacturer, and I say so plainly whenever I can't confirm a detail rather than guess.
